  • PRWeb: Art & Writing Alumni Shelby Grubbs (2010) recently won a contest hosted by American Frame, which was announced on PRWeb. Grubbs is a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame, having received her B.A. in Studio Art and Design. She won for her watercolor work “Reflection I.” 
  • WBNI/WBOI (NPR): This article titled “Scholastic Program Works to Engage More Diverse Student Artists,” focuses on The Fort Wayne Museum of Art and their regional exhibition. Max Meyer, Director of Children’s Education at the museum is interviewed about his role running their Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program for the past decade.
  • Daily Voice: Two Dobbs Ferry High School seniors—William (Liam) Daly and Camille Rapay—won Gold Keys and Honorable Mention awards respectively in the regional Awards. Virginia McEnerney is quoted!
  • The Butler County Times-Gazette: More than 825 people attended the Scholastic Open House and Gold Key Ceremony this weekend at The Wichita Center for the Arts, with this year’s scholarship and cash award recipients receiving more than $2.3 million.

  • The Morning Journal in Ohio that features senior Noah Katrinchak on receiving a National Medal for the second year in a row. “All I did last year wasn’t my peak,” Katrinchak said. “I still have more to me.”  Noah will study industrial design at the University of Cincinnati next year.
  • The State Journal-Register in Springfield, IL features Springfield High School senior Claire Martin who received a National American Visions Medal. “I cried,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it. It’s funny, because it’s so hard to look at your own artwork and see what other people see.”
