We are in the process of planning the Pratt Manhattan Gallery Exhibit.  This location will serve as home to the American Vision and Voices winners.  We are making preparations to honor YOU!  Select material from our National Archive will be displayed at this venue, too! 

 

We are asking that Affiliates send three (OR MORE) photos of their award ceremonies to be part of an instillation piece slideshow shown in large scale on one of the gallery walls!  How exciting…

Wonderful opportunities for new programs and new coordinators to existing programs to gather and learn about the Scholastic Art & Writing Award programing, how-to successfully run a program, expectations.  A chance to intimately discuss program year prep, training, program launching, ordering and other things of this nature, ask questions to Alliance staff and develop a connection with other Affiliate that are in your shoes.

This annual conference provides an opportunity for members of the Affiliate Network to come together with the Alliance and share views from across the country!  Setting the stage for next year’s needs, converse about changes to be made and learn how we can better serve the program youth.

This is the only location where vouchers can be exchanged for Carnegie Hall Tickets.  All students, their guests and teachers must stop by this location during the dates and times listed above in order to pick up their tickets.  (** this excludes Affiliates**)  Tickets cannot be obtained at Carnegie Hall.

National Medalists are celebrated at world-famous Carnegie Hall. Graduating Seniors will cross the stage.  All other award winners and teachers will be recognized with a bow from the house seats.

 

90th Anniversary Carnegie Hall Live Webcast!!

For the first time ever, The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards will webcast the 90th Anniversary National Awards Ceremony live from Carnegie Hall on May 31 at 6:00 p.m. ET!  You are encouraged to announce the webcast at your school and encourage EVERYONE to watch this one-time only webcast event.  You won’t want to miss this historic presentation.  Visit artandwriting.org to learn more. 

 

Affiliates are encouraged to plan viewing parties!  It is our aim to encourage inclusiveness for this historic event, particularly for students who are unable to travel to NYC and provide an opportunity for them to salute their peers across the country.  We will be providing Affiliates with tool kits that provide suggestions on planning your own viewing event.

 

Additionally, this is a great opportunity to celebrate the work that you do, reengage your audience and invite potential sponsors and partners to learn more about your program.

 

 

SCHOLASTIC ART & WRITING AWARDS AT TIMES SQUARE

On Friday, May 31, two screens at Times Square will display a 30 second Scholastic Art & Writing Awards feature every two minutes – throughout the day!  If you are attending National Events, be sure to stop by Times Square and take a photograph with the Awards feature in the background!

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ 90th Anniversary Gala will be presented at The Edison Ballroom following the annual presentation of the Awards at Carnegie Hall. Join us for cocktails, a silent auction, dinner and program. Subsequently, the celebration will continue at the 90th Anniversary after party.

Day-long events featuring highlights of National Medalist art and writing from students across the country.  Writers will have a change to read excerpts of their work; a selection of film and animation winning works will be screened throughout the day; Portfolio Gold Medalists will present on their scholarship-winning work; and professional actors will perform excerpts from a selection of dramatic scripts.
