  • NOTE: Whenever possible, teens should complete parent approval through the portal (aka by providing their parent/guardian’s email). If their parent/guardian cannot provide approval via email, they can complete this PDF and email it to approvals@artandwriting.org. (The form says to email it to affiliates@artandwriting.org, but this is an error which will be fixed next year.)

Instructions for Gmail and Outlook

Remove Inbox Categories in Gmail:

1. Log into your Gmail account.
2. Click the gear icon in the top-right corner to open the Gmail settings.
3. Choose Default as your Inbox Type.
4. Click the Customize button to select which message categories appear as inbox tabs.
5. Under Categories, uncheck the boxes next to Promotions, Social, Updates, etc.
6. Scroll down and click the Save Changes button.

Mark Email Addresses as Safe Sender in Microsoft Outlook:

1. Log into your Outlook account.
2. On the Home tab in the Ribbon, click the Junk icon.
3. From the drop-down list, select Junk Email Options.
4. Go to the Safe Senders tab.
5. Click Add.
6. In the dialog box, enter @artandwriting.org.
7. Click OK.
8. Click Apply to save changes. Emails from this sender will now be prevented from automatically going to your Junk Email folder.
