This introduction is intended for new Affiliate Partners and new Affiliate Coordinators. In this training, we will take a look at an overview of the year ahead and steps you can take now to prepare for the 2017 Awards.

We will cover the following items during this intro, and also address any questions you may have.

• New Affiliate introduction – opportunity for new Affiliates to get to know each other. 
  
  
• Program year at a glance – an overview of key information contained in the Program Guide
  • DOCUMENT: Year at a Glance Flowchart
    
    
• Discussion of September 14: launch of Online Registration System to the public.
  
  
• Determining your Regional Guidelines and an appropriate deadline (within the range of December 15, 2016 through January 15, 2017) and regional and National factors to consider when deciding on a deadline.
  
  
• Determining quantities of materials for outreach (posters) and recognition (certificates, student and educator pins, stickers, and seals).
  
  
• Technology overview
  • What are ORS and DAJ? 
  • An introduction to the Affiliate dashboard and using it to place orders for materials (simply an overview – in-depth trainings on this, as well as other technology enhancements, will take place beginning August 4). 
  • Creating your Affiliate website.
